ABOUT USHISTORY: The National Black Public Relations Society, Inc. (NBPRS) began as a conceptual organization more than fifteen years ago. Pat Tobin and Helen Goss acted upon the recognized need for African-American public relations practitioners to come together. Their mission was to provide a networking environment that fostered professional development, resource sharing and mutual support. TODAY: The present structure has a solid foundation, a working board, growing corporate base and a resource pool. NBPRS covers major initiatives including: Career Development and Training, Program Enhancements, Chapter Mobilization, Networking and Scholarships. Through these initiatives, our mission is to address the challenges and emphasize the opportunities for the multifaceted constituency that we serve. Education, expansion and empowerment are key components to NBPRS mission and it outlines the target of this "success triad." The Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society (PBPRS) strives to continue this level of excellence exemplified by the national chapter. PBPRS recognizes the growing number of African American public relations and communications professionals in the tri-state area for the private ad non-profit sectors, and the need to support these professionals is imperative. It is our goal to serve as a mechanism of support for these professionals. MISSION: The mission of the Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society is to provide public relations and communications practitioners throughout the Greater Philadelphia region with a venue for professional support. PBPRS accomplishes this by fostering a network between members and other professionals that enable growth and development. Leadership Team |
