Tashyra C. Ayers
New Jersey born, native, Tashyra C. Ayers is ambitious and results-driven marketing communications, public and community affairs professional whose experience extends beyond her years. Her diverse skill set ranges from community and public relations, event and conference planning, to media relations and radio production.
As a young professional, Tashyra uses her gift of administration and passion to accurately and positively depict the talents, expertise and services of individuals, companies, and organizations through her promotional and PR work with national gospel and secular recording artists such as James Hall, Vicky Winans; grassroots organizations such as the M.A.N. Campaign - an African American male focused mentoring organization and many more. As the Public Affairs Director for WTMR 800AM, a Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. radio station, Tashyra is positioned to develop and retain relationships with the radio station and the area in which it serves. She does so by creating a rapport with the professionals, community leaders, government officials, celebrities, etc. that grace the studio as guests on her weekly public service forum/radio show, "Let's Talk About It".
Tashyra serves in a variety of leadership capacities including Marketing Director for a mobile, faith-based health and wellness organization, Next Generation Fellowship, Inc. as well as its Philadelphia-based entity. From 2004 - 2006, through the creation and implementation of the organization's first marketing communications plan, Tashyra, with an administrative staff and promotional team, was able to meet the needs of the organization through strategic marketing and communications tactics. Ayers was able to raise awareness of the organizations, position it to develop an alliance with local CDC's, alter its image to align with future goals as well as provide consultative services. She continued to display her commitment to the non-profit/faith-based community by implementing an annual holiday toy and clothing drive to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Southern NJ, the Salvation Army and other shelters that housed the less-fortunate.
Tashyra is a motivator whose is able to engage audiences all of magnitudes through her strong interpersonal communications skills. Her unique leadership strategies and tactical thinking is used regularly; as Chair of Communications for the Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society (PBPRS) and Past Marketing Director for the Black Data Processing Associates - Philadelphia Chapter (BDPA). She is an active member of these urban professional organizations as well as the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ). Ayers is currently the Programs Analyst for CIGNA's Civic Affairs/CIGNA Foundation. In addition to her full-time role, she provides consultative and Needs Analysis services to small to mid-size businesses and grassroots organizations in South Jersey. Ayers is now transitioning from the non-profit and faith-based sector to more mainstream efforts to help ensure a lucrative and solid future to soon operate as the entrepreneur she is destined to be.
What Tashyra considers her pinnacle priority, is motherhood. Tashyra is a dedicated and instinctive single-mother of a 12 yr. old, athletic son, Daevon M. Ayers; who is the inspiration and joy of her life. She maintains a busy schedule as a football and basketball mom and member of the PTA. Tashyra and her son are able to maintain tranquility and apply persistency in all they do through belief in Christ.
Tashyra's educational venture continues to evolve at the Axia College of the University of Phoenix and will receive her degree in Communications in 2009. Her studies began as a Mass Communications at Delaware State University (DSU), a Historically Black College University (HBCU). TAshyra is a Certificated Marketing Communications Consultant (CMCC) and an assertive, ambitious professional by right.
