Monica O. Montgomery
Monica O. Montgomery is a New York native and a Philadelphia transplant with a decade of experience in communication and non-profit administration. She is a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor in Communication, and her Masters in Public Relations from La Salle University. Her areas of expertise include strategic writing, nonprofit communications, marketing, public relations, development and fundraising. She is an advocate for education, community empowerment, philanthropy, and progressive change. Currently she serves as the Director of Development & Public Relations for the Green Tree School, a private institution for special needs students in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. Her duties encompass promoting Green Tree School to the community and its' stakeholders while garnering the publicity and funding needed to ensure the schools steady progress. Monica is active in her community as a volunteer for: Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society (Programming Chairperson), Spectrum Health Services (Board of Directors - Development Chairperson), Institute for Development of African American Youth (Board of Directors), Bread and Roses (Community Grantmaking Committee) among other institutions. She has previously volunteered with such notable nonprofits as Delaware Valley Green Building Council (an eco-focused sustainable nonprofit educating citizenry about the advantages of Green construction) and Center for Responsible Funding (philanthropic advocacy nonprofit operating workplace campaigns).
