Jamila Patton

Jamila Patton, M.J.
Vice President

Jamila Patton serves as a Manager of Corporate Communications for Comcast at their national headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, she is responsible for assisting with the implementation of public relations and media relations initiatives for Comcast's High-Speed Internet and Digital Voice products and services.

Prior to joining Comcast, Jamila was the Associate State Director of Communications for the March of Dimes - Pennsylvania. In this role, she was responsible for executing the foundation's public relations and communication initiatives in the Philadelphia metropolitan media market, among the largest markets in the country. She was the project manager for the Philadelphia Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) Awards and she assisted with the implementation of state-wide public relations efforts for March for Babies, Prematurely Awareness Month, Newborn Screening Legislation and various fundraising campaigns.

Before joining the March of Dimes, Jamila worked from 2001 to 2004 as the Executive Director of the Youth Leadership Foundation which provided scholarship, internship and mentorship programs for elementary through college aged students in Philadelphia, PA and the surrounding areas. Prior to working at the Youth Leadership Foundation, she worked as a Communications Specialist at Aqua Pennsylvania (formerly Philadelphia Suburban Water Company) in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Jamila has a Master of Journalism degree in Business Communications from Temple University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. While in graduate school, she received an assistantship and the Ted Von Ziekursch award for being an outstanding student who exemplified professional capabilities in the field of communications. She has also co-authored an article about the nature of journalism courses devoted to diversity that was published in the trade journal Journalism and Mass Communication Educator.

Jamila is a member of the National Black Public Relations Society and serves as the Vice President of the local chapter in Philadelphia. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exercising and cooking.

Jamila was born in New Haven, Connecticut and moved to Delaware, Ohio when she was 18 months old. She currently resides in the Philadelphia area.
